Parliamentary Review Best Practice Representative

Minster Group has been highlighted as an example of best practice in this year’s edition of The Parliamentary Review.

The Parliamentary Review is an annual publication which is distributed to all members of parliament. The review gives organisations in the private and public sector the chance to share their sector-specific knowledge and insight with their peers and with policy makers.

Minster Group was invited to contribute to the publication by former Secretary of State for Local Government and Communities, Sir Eric Pickles.

In his forward to Minster Group’s entry in the review, Lord Eric Pickles and Lord David Blunkett said:

“The ability to listen and learn from one another has always been vital in parliament, in business and in most aspects of daily life. But at this particular moment in time, as national and global events continue to reiterate, it is uncommonly crucial that we forge new channels of communication and reinforce existing ones. The following article from Minster Group is an attempt to do just that.”

Combining political commentary from leading journalists, with sector specific insight from Secretaries of State, Ministers and MPs, The Parliamentary Review is a guide to industry best practice, which demonstrates how sector leaders have responded to challenges in the political and economic environment.

The Review has several editions, each focusing on an individual policy area with the strategic aim of raising standards by highlighting best practice.

Minster’s inclusion in the Review comes just after Minster’s 20th anniversary, when Minster Surfacing and Alliance Recycling became part of Minster Group.

Minster Group’s managing director, Bruce Spencer-Knott said:

“Being asked to be included in this year’s Parliamentary Review as an example of best practice was a real honour and it was a privilege to attend the launch gala at the Houses of Parliament. By learning from the experiences of real businesses in industries across the economy, politicians can have a greater understanding of the realities of modern business. With this publication coinciding with our 20th anniversary, it gave us an opportunity to reflect on our journey so far and to set out where we see things heading in future.”

The Parliamentary Review is sent to over 500,000 leading business executives, policy makers and other relevant individuals. This year’s edition features a foreword by Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, Michael Gove while previous editions have featured forewords by Theresa May, David Cameron, Caroline Lucas, Lucy Powell and many other political figures. The Review’s release is marked by an annual gala in the Palace of Westminster.

The Parliamentary Review’s director Daniel Yossman said:

“Sharing knowledge and insight with both peers and government is essential work and I am delighted that this year’s Review will reach every corner of the British economy.

It’s always a real joy to hear from policymakers who tell me that something they have read in the Review has had an effect on their thinking. It is my belief that innovation is contagious, if only it is given the platform to spread. It is the Review’s purpose to provide this platform and I am confident we are fulfilling it.”
